The Embassy Group are a property portfolio owner who assets include Embassy House Office Block, The Herbert Park Hotel and Apart Hotel, 10 Pembroke Park Offices, Herbert Lane Apartments and Bushy Park Apartments.  

Project description

The brief for SystemCore was to design and upgrade the hotels AHUs, VRF, Heating and Hot Water and BMS Systems with modern efficient equipment that will improve their energy efficiency rating for the building and improve the operational efficiency and occupant comfort levels within the hotel. The hotel have an ambitious target to improve the building rating to an A3.

SystemCore were the design and build contractor for the project. We designed all the new mechanical systems with state of the art equipment and we utilised advanced control systems to endure each of the systems were capable of reacting to real life conditions of the building. This was done by utilising sensor technology to determine the real time temperature and occupancy profile of the building so that the BMS system could adjust the system outputs accordingly. SystemCore then acted as main contractor to deliver the project for the Group. By acting as the main contractor, we ensured that the project was installed exactly per the design intent due to our increased site presence on the project.

Outcome

By completing these energy upgrades the hotel will save an estimated 400 tons of CO2 annually, resulting in a further carbon reduction of 19.7% and energy consumption reduction of 750,000 kWh per year. Improved comfort levels in hotel.  Delivered grants of 22% for projects and energy credits at 3.5c per kWh savings. Net Zero roadmap for each building and overall portfolio to support owners’ investment decision making process. Projects prioritised and 1st phase completed​
